Take A Moment To Thank A Veteran

When you see someone in a uniform,
Someone who serves us all,
Doing military duty,
Answering their country's call,
Take a moment to thank them,
For protectingwhat you hold dear;
Tell them you are proud of them;
Make it very clear.
Just tap them on the shoulder,
Give a smile, and say,
"Thanks for what you're doing
To Keep us safe in the USA!
Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Realizing and Rambling

I've come to realize that there will always be people your heart goes back to. Not someone you're in love with, but there are certain people who you'll always genuinely care about, no matter how long you go without talking. Every time you meet, you pick right up where you left off. That's what a true friend is. Someone who doesn't even have to say anything to know how you're feeling. Someone you can hug, tickle, and laugh with about the most random shit. You can make fun of them and they dont get mad and delete you from their friend circle.But most of all, it's someone who you've known for a long time, and has never changed. They're always the same person: themselves. It takes guts to do that; be yourself in a world full of people who are constantly wanting to be like everyone else. To "fit in". I like people who are against the grain, who do what is morally right, and who have respect for the people in their lives. THOSE are the people we need to look up to....not walking barbie's or nasty men that can wipe their asses with a $50 dollar bill and take whatever they can get, just as long as their desires are fulfilled.
People who look up to are those who LOVE instead of LUST. Who wait longer than the first date to have sex. Who worship the lord with every living atom in thier body. People who say what is on their minds, but in a way that makes people understand and not feel ridiculed. People who have the courage to wear what they want, whenever they want, and who smile even when they're black and blue on the inside. to a guy who is SO in love with a girl, but doesnt tell her because he feels like he's going to be laughed at, but then goes home and helps his mom with housework and his five younger siblings because his dad walked out on them when he was young.
People who have been through tough times in their lives are often the ones that come out strongest in the long run. They may not have the most money in the world, but they've got stories to tell for however long someone is willing to listen. They've lived an eventful life. They know what if feels like to be heartborken, but then over came it. They know what its like to lose a loved one, but it doesnt stop them from living their lives. They're positive and uplifting and spread that to people around them, even if it's a simple smile.
The point of this ramble is this: I truly believe that there are more GOOD people in the world than bad people. They just go un-noticed because they don't care if they're noticed for it or not. They dont do it for the attention; they do it because they know it's the right thing to do. Those are the people we need to look up to.

Smelly Paint Fumes

I do stupid things. Frequently too. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I am an idiot, just thought I would preface this post by letting you know.

My adventure that I'm going to talk about this week has been giving my Mom's small bedroom a “make-over”. This project is finally finished and im glad it is!! Since I was moving to Bismarck, my mom has decided to stay at my Grandmas house and help take care of her since shes having health propblems. So my mom decided to paint the bedroom orange and yellow! I know its a wierd combination for a bedroom, but it looked ten times better after it was pinted. The idea was to paint the bedroom before removing the carpet so that my mom, my aunt, and I wouldnt worry about covering floors while painting and finally turn her room into the place she truly wanted to live in.

So the trip to Menards was of course in order. From the time I received my paint cans, purchased them, and transported them to my car, I had been propositioned by 4 different men about whether I needed “help”. By help they meant, “Will you hire me to paint your apartment?” These dudes literally hang out by the paint counter and parking lot waiting for people like me to prey on. Now normally I just simply say “No. Thank You.” However one individual prompted me to let loose on him a little. He followed me to my car, which was annoying. Then he said, “You need painter?” I threw my typical response his way, but he persisted. “I paint for you. I can do that for you.” Here is where snappy Miss Briana comes in. I shot him a probably unnecessary evil glace and said, “I can do it too. Isn’t that cool? And guess what? When I do it…. Its free!” That makes me giggle everytime!

Karma has taught me that my painting skills are free… yes… but not that exceptional and slightly sloppy. Here is a list of the numerous things I have learned while painting this week…

  1. Windows Should Remain Open! – We have managed to paint my entire room with the windows locked shut and the air conditioner running. I think I am currently still high and I know that brain cells have been lost. Ask the people who heard me giggling all day at work!!
  2. Be Tall! – I discovered, that my arms do not reach the ceiling. And yes I did have a step stool. Still couldn't reach. I had to have my aunt come over to tape my ceiling… and getting it down has been all too comical. I even went so far as to get phone books out to set on the step stool in order to reach. You know when you see kids in movies reaching for the cookie jars? They are on their tippy toes, sorta hopping up and down, and usually standing on a chair… yep? Now you know what I look like trying to remove the tape.
  3. Put the Lid Back on the Paint Can! – Make sure it is closed tightly too. I knocked over a little can of yellow paint in her room and now she has a yellow blob in the carpet… nice. I also had the amazing misfortune of stepping INSIDE a orange paint can while painting her bedroom. I know what you’re thinking… her foot fits inside a paint can? Yes ladies and gentlemen I have abnormally small feet. I was on the stool reaching for the area above the window and when I stepped down off the stool I stepped directly into the can. I then stupidly proceeded to pull it out and step on the carpet… so now there are little elvish orange footprints in the carpet. Joy.
  4. Wash Yourself! – Its not good when you are at work and someone says, “What color are you painting your apartment?” and you lift up your elbow, point, and say “This color!”Maybe hire that man you mouthed off to in the Menards parking lot? – Yeah right! Come on, we all know I am way too stubborn for that! Besides now I have this incredible satisfaction of knowing that I did it… no matter how many mistakes I may have made.
So… the carpet may present more additions to this adventure so keep a look out for a part 2. In the mean time I hope my poor painting technique made you giggle. Keep reading everyone! :D

Taa-Dah!!!

Welcome! I am completely confused as to how to begin a blog... there are so many options. I could tell you about myself (typical), I could try to teach you something (stupid), and well, I could start with an adventure (duh... title) , but I feel like I would rather just talk about nonsense. So hold onto your pants people.

*Insert Jeopardy Theme*

Yep... its official. Nothing creative coming from this girl tonight. So I will tell you about myself (mostly because I think I can accomplish this without being "typical") and promise to have something much better for the next attempted post.

Im 18 years old- 19 on November 6th (remeber that!). Grew up in Garrison, ND. I currently reside in Bismarck, North Dakota. Even though its only the end of September-begining of October, its freezing cold already. I am a dancer, actress, production assistant for Dean Belin at BSC, couch potato extraordinaire, professional chocolate consumer, and avid music lover. I add to this list daily. Mostly with the idea that as long as I stay busy I can't be unhappy... terrible theory I know.

As you know, I attend Bismarck State College... and I love it! I have made plenty of new friends here, and i get along great with my roommate, Kayla. Everyday is a new adventure here and not all of them are "super" (hints for the title). But for every bad situation in life, there is a good side and a memorie that i can laugh at in the future. I would tell you all the "not so super things" that have happened here, but thats for another blog.

I desperately want to be"that girl" that saves the world... mostly because
then I will live up to my incredible superhero style name. And on that note... I
am off to find anadventure... please keep reading... I will get better
atthis....hopefully!
